Reviewing Performance

New Year is on the way.  Will you set yourself some New Year Resolutions?
Any resolution has the potential of being a good thing for your well being, peace of mind and just generally helping with your prosperity.  However, a resolution made on a whim, rather than a thorough examination of your inner dreams, wants, skills and abilities isn’t as likely to deliver you long term benefit.
With the approaching slow down in business activity which normally surrounds the Christmas and New Year period, let’s take a moment or two to run a little review of where we are relative to our expectations and goals.

Why review?  When we make plans about how and what we propose to achieve, it is generally understood that without following the plans with ‘action’ nothing will happen.  The action is an integral part of achieving the objectives but without a review, how can we evaluate what we have actually done?

What actions did we undertake?  What was the outcome of the action?  Did it provide what we expected?  Did we expend a lot of energy on actions which were never going to provide the result we wanted?  In other words, did we undertake the activities which would give us our expected result or did we spend our time on activities quite useless in terms of providing the high objectives we set ourselves?

Ensure you spend your time on the activities which will deliver the desired result.  Every aspect of your business is important; some things though, can be left till later.  Deal first with those things critical to making your business the success you want it to be.

Business does one of two things; ‘It grows, or it dies’.  Is your business growing?

Yes agree a great time to reflect and review over all of business operations, its a great time to review business tools and customer lead systems that have been use through out the year and just like a gardner prune those business tools and customer lead tools that have not given your business the growth you expected.

Important to do the spring cleaning of these cumbersum business tools and systems on a yearly or even more frequent bases, more imporatant is are those systems that are designed to create Customer loyality, truely sutisfying your customer, are your customers talking about you and your brand vs conversion ratio, personaly we would prefer have one raving fan vs fifty one time sales.
